Welcome to Diamond Community — Real Advice From a GIA-Certified Expert
Hi everyone — I'm Farzana Hasan, GIA-certified diamond expert and founder of DiamondCritics.com. Welcome to the Diamond Community.
This is the place to ask real questions and get real answers about diamonds. No salespeople, no commission bias — just honest advice from people who know diamonds.
- **What you can ask here:**
- •Cut, color, clarity, and carat questions — the full 4Cs
- •GIA vs IGI certification comparisons
- •Natural vs lab-grown diamond comparisons
- •Engagement ring settings and styles
- •Price checks — is this diamond good value?
- •Blue Nile, James Allen, Brilliant Earth comparisons
- •Reading your GIA diamond report
- •Round, oval, cushion, emerald, princess cut differences
- •Hearts and Arrows, ideal cut, proportions
- •Fluorescence — when it saves money and when to avoid it
**My quick buying rules (the ones I tell every buyer):** 1. Cut is everything. GIA Excellent only. Never compromise here. 2. G color in white gold. H in yellow or rose gold. You cannot see the difference vs D. 3. VS2 clarity for most people. SI1 if you watch the video and it's eye-clean. 4. Lab-grown saves 60–80%. For a 2ct diamond, that's $10,000+ in your pocket. 5. Always get a GIA certificate for natural diamonds. IGI is fine for lab-grown.
